Who We Are

The Georgia Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (GAHSA) is the nonprofit association that represents the key providers of non-profit community-based housing and service providers throughout the continuum of long-term care.    Our members include nursing homes, retirement housing, assisted living communities, continuing care retirement communities, and community service providers.  These mission-driven providers are committed to advancing the vision of healthy, affordable and ethical long-term care for older Georgians.

The GAHSA philosophy, summarized by the phrase “Communities that Care”, is based on a commitment to care for the total person.  Our members demonstrate a concern for the social, spiritual, environmental and health needs of the older person entrusted to their care.  We recognize that long-term care housing and community services should be tailored to

individual needs.  GAHSA members are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults by placing the needs of the individuals served above all else.   Nonprofit providers turn any surplus revenue back into improving facilities and expanding services, and exist for only one reason: to provide high quality services for their residents and clients.

The Georgia Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (GAHSA) is an affiliated partner of the American Association of Homes and Services for the  Aging (AAHSA), which represents over 5,400 nonprofit facilities, serving over one million older adults in the United States and maintains an impressive staff of 86 professionals at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.  GAHSA and AAHSA involve their members in the Associations’ organizational structure to develop educational programming, provide membership services, and to represent and influence public policy.

“A Mission of Caring …
