Benefits of Membership

Aging Services of Georgia (formerly The Georgia Association of Homes and Services for the Aging - GAHSA) is the nonprofit association that represents the key providers of not-for-profit and other mission-driven, quality-focused organizations dedicated to providing services that people need, when they need them, in the places they call home.  Our members offer the continuum of aging services in Georgia:  adult day services, home & community-based services, senior retirement housing, assisted living communities, continuing care retirement communities, nursing homes and hospice care.  These providers are committed to advancing the vision of healthy, affordable and ethical long-term care for older Georgians.

The Aging Services of Georgia philosophy, summarized by the phrase “Communities that Care”, is based on a commitment to care for the total person.  Our members demonstrate a concern for the social, spiritual, environmental and health needs of the older person entrusted to their care.  We recognize that long-term care housing and community services should be tailored to individual needs.  Association members are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults by placing the needs of the individuals served above all else.

Aging Services of Georgia is the Georgia affiliated partner of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA), which represents over 5,400 nonprofit provider organizations, serving over two million older adults in the United States and maintains an impressive staff of 86 professionals at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.  Both associations involve their members in the Associations’ organizational structure to develop educational programming, provide membership services, and to represent and influence public policy which positively impacts the lives of older Georgians.
