The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a new Survey and Certification Letter, “Advance Copy - Hospice State Operations Manual (SOM) Sections 2080-2089,” which modifies interpretive guidance on the revised hospice conditions of participation that took effect Dec. 2, 2008. The changes to these sections represent the most recent material for 42CFR Part 418 conditions of participation for hospice, replacing all previously released versions. They will be published in Chapter Two of the SOM.
