Office of Inspector General Releases the New Work
Plan for Fiscal Year 2010

At the beginning of each fiscal year, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) issues an annual Work Plan for Medicare providers, which describes the specific audits, evaluations, and general areas of investigation and enforcement that will be underway in the fiscal year ahead. For home health agencies, some of the areas the OIG will focus on will be Part B payment, accuracy in coding for the home health
resource groups, payment for insulin injections, outlier payments, prospective payment system controls, and agency profitability.
