Technology’s Role in Caregiving Featured in New Study

Technology can ease the burdens of family caregivers and improve the care they provide, according toCaregiving in the U.S. 2009, a report released by the National Alliance for Caregiving. Nearly half of the 1,480 caregivers interviewed for the study said they used some sort of technology, including sensors that detect falls or wandering (10%), a Web site or computer software to keep track of personal health records (7%) or devices that send information to a doctor or other care manager (12%). http://www.caregiving.org/data/FINALRegularExSum50plus.pdf
